Phew

On the fallout of “Blitz and Massive” deal gone wrong, the company (now grown to 10 people) was trying to figure out the next steps in game development.

One of the ideas that stuck for some time was “Phew”, a 3rd-person action adventure game based on platforming and controlling the creatures in the environment using the pheromones being emitted by the player (that could chose them, and control the creatures in different ways).

The game advanced quite a bit, but we had to give up on it because we quickly saw that we couldn’t produce the full game on the budget we had, and at the time it was very hard to get funding from a publisher for a PC game, and we didn’t had the experience/access necessary to embark on a console foray.

This was all programmed in C++ with the Spellbook engine, and I was responsible for the game concept and most of the graphics/gameplay programming.
